Happy New Year again everybody! Welcome to our 1st episode of 2023. It's started off as a rocky year for us. We thought we had our technical problems solved, but they came back with a vengence. Lucky for us, my dad was able to have Best Buy look at it - and pronounce it A-Ok.
That's right, they said there was nothing wrong with his laptop. Go figure. Oh well. We aren't stopping. Just like we hope you don't stop listening! If you like us - tell us. If you don't like us - tell us that too. We want to hear from you. We really do. We want feedback. We want to make it better.
There were other issues that my family has been dealing with - but you will have to listen to the episode.

Happy New Year! The 2 Old Farts are closing out 2022 with their last episode of the year. Its been a great year. A year of firsts - first podcast episode, first technological challenge, the first episode where my dad calls himself the better looking of the 2 old farts.
In many ways it's been a fun year and a sad year. Fun for all the usual reasons, hanging out with my dad, doing things, going to concerts, having a beer, getting our pies for Thanksgiving, family gatherings, etc... And sad because we lost my father in law this year. It's alway sad when you lose someone close to you. Maybe that's why I am so thankful to be able to do this with my dad - no matter how many people listen. It's fun for us. But also a sad reminder that nothing or no one lasts forever.

Ok fans - we were "successful" today in doing a remote recording session. However, we weren't not 100% in our efforts to make it perfect. For some reason, in post production, my dad had a terrible echo on his end. And from the outset, he STILL had trouble hearing me. That may be a problem he will have forever. Who knows.
One thing we did talk about is him getting some better podcasting equipment. Like a Yamaha mixing console and an XLR microphone. That might help on his end.
On another note - a fellow podcaster I met via Twitter - @theoldmanspodc1 (The Old Man's Podcast) via www.theoldmanspodcast.com "liked" us on twitter, gave us some kudos and is following us via @podbean. So that's cool! If we have any luck - we may try to call into his show this Friday. Fingers crossed!
It is a short episode, only to see if we were able to make his computer/connection work from home. So far - so fair. There is always room for improvement. Take care!

The 2 Old Farts Podcast wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas! We apologize for our continued technical difficulties. We know this can be very aggrevating when it comes to looking forward to our next podcast and it's delayed.
We really enjoyed making this episode. It was a lot of fun to record. And after our last attempt/fiasco, I realize I need to work on my patience. It can be difficult to do this while we are geographically separated. My father isn't getting younger and his technical skills are fading. So my patience needs to increase.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! We are very thankful for you and even more thankful to be able to do what we do - even if it's just a few of you who listen. We are THANKFUL! The 2 Old Farts - were out again - this time for our Annual trip to the Blue Bonnet Cafe to get our Thanksgiving pies! Afterwards, we stopped by the awesome Bear King Brewery. We tried their delicious Birria Tacos and washed it down with a Mexican Lager and a Hefe Weizen. Mmm good!
We even managed to find out we had 1.9K downloads in 1 week. WTH?? Where did all that come from? Was it a mistake? Are we catching on? Tell us - we want to hear from you the2oldfarts@outlook.com

Well, we finally did it! We were FINALLY able to successfully record an episode today. Boy, it's been a busy 6 weeks since we last recorded an episode. And we haven't quite had the success and reach that we thought we would by this point. And in fairness we aren't the most consistent podcasters and we darn sure aren't the savviest either!What do you think about us possibly changing our style & content of the podcast? We are thinking - based upon some feedback from my better half - that maybe we should be more about ourselves and our stories. I mean who wants to hear about our occassional forays about the usual places we go? So maybe we should talk about being fathers, sons, grandfathers, soldier, airmen, etc. Stuff that we really know and more to who we are. What are your thoughts? Hit us up on the socials

This is just about The 2 Old Farts and we are a Father and Son / Grandfather and Father / Great Grandfather and Grandfather duo/team.
One is a 20 year retired Air Force MSgt and the other is a 26 year retired Army CW4. We are trying to enjoy everything we can – concerts, food, beer, bourbon, bbq – but most of all, each other. Be on the lookout for The 2 Old Farts.
